FOCUS Magazine’s 2025 Met Gala Best Dressed

A week has passed, and we’re still daydreaming about this year’s unforgettable Met Gala. Centered around the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and the dress code “Tailored for You,” the evening celebrated personal interpretation, with guests showcasing striking menswear, sharp suiting and impeccable tailoring. The historically-rich theme inspired a truly historic night, culminating in a record-breaking $31 million raised for the museum’s Costume Institute. With such a monumental turnout and theme, it’s only fitting that we highlight some of our favorite looks from the red carpet.

Keith Powers made a strong Met Gala debut in BOSS, wearing a slightly cropped blazer and wide-leg trousers that created an amazing silhouette that touched on the theme but also stood out from a regular suit.

Teyana Taylor | Getty Images

Teyana Taylor turned heads the moment she arrived, wearing custom Ruth E. Carter and Marc Jacobs heels. The Harlem queen herself completed the look with a cape and durag, showing regalness and detail orientation. Undeniably one of the night’s best looks.

Damson Idris | Getty Images

We love a little drama, and Damson Idris certainly delivered in custom Tommy Hilfiger, inspired by Formula 1 racing suits. He paired the look with a Swarovski crystal-covered helmet to promote his new film F1, then surprised everyone by revealing a second, dandy-inspired red suit underneath—still with the helmet, of course.

Rihanna arrived in custom Marc Jacobs, featuring a corset perfectly tailored to her baby bump. Bad Gal Rih can do no wrong—we adore the statement, but we're still hoping for some new music soon.

Diana Ross | Getty Images

Diana Ross made a stunning return to the Met Gala after 22 years, wearing a glamorous gown by Nigerian designer Ugo Mozie.

Coco Jones | Getty Images

Coco Jones made her Met Gala debut in Manish Malhotra, wearing an elegant cream and white ensemble with intricate embroidery and sharp tailoring—a dramatic yet refined look.

Prabal Gurung | Getty Images

Prabal Gurung walked the carpet in his own design: an Atelier Prabal Gurung cream matelassé jacket embroidered in rose gold crystals, paired with a leopard print silk shirt, black leather pants and Paige glasses from ZEELOOL.

Ugbad Abdi | Getty Images

Ugbad Abdi paid homage to André Leon Talley in custom Michael Kors. The rich textures and patterns made this one of our standout favorites.

Jodie Turner-Smith | Getty Images

Jodie Turner-Smith nailed the theme in custom Burberry, complete with a top hat and tailored trousers. She embodied dandyism with elegance and flair.

Khaby Lame | Getty Images

Khaby Lame wore a sharp BOSS suit with impeccable tailoring, and the intricate watch details on his vest didn’t go unnoticed.

Janelle Monáe | Getty Images

And last but certainly not least, Janelle Monáe in Thom Browne delivered a masterclass in storytelling. Monáe’s look began with a dramatic overcoat and transitioned into a deconstructed, reimagined tuxedo—complete with a watch-inspired eye spectacle. Absolute perfection.
