2025 Grammy Nominees: Women Taking the Lead

It’s no secret 2024 was a thrilling year for music of all genres. We watched and listened to Beyoncé continuing to break records, Charli xcx gave summer a new meaning, and Sabrina Carpenter gifted us with one of the catchiest songs of the year. When the 2025 Grammy nominations were announced last week, it was no surprise—women are leading in the most anticipated categories.

This year, Beyonce is leading with 11 nominations in total. She is now the most-nominated artist in Grammys history with 99 total nominations. Beyoncé also made history this year as the first Black woman to top the Billboard country albums chart with her latest album, Cowboy Carter

Cowboy Carter and songs on the album earned multiple Grammy nominations including: 

  • Album of the Year

  • Best Country Album

“Texas Hold 'Em” is nominated for several major awards:

  • Record of the Year 

  • Song of the Year

  • Country Song of the Year

Other standout nominations from the album include:

  • Best Pop Solo Performance “BODYGUARD” 

  • Best Pop Duo Performance “LEVII’S JEANS” (featuring Post Malone) 

  • Best Country Solo Performance– “16 CARRIAGES” 

  • Best Country Duo Performance– “II MOST WANTED” (featuring Miley Cyrus)

Charli xcx gave us the gift of “Brat summer” with her recent album BRAT. The album and songs from the album earned seven nominations in total including:

  • Record of the Year– “360”

  • Album of the YearBRAT

  • Best Dance Pop Recording– “Von dutch”

  • Best Pop Solo Performance– “Apple”

  • Best Pop Duo/Group Performance– “Guess” (featuring Billie Eilish)

  • Best Dance/Electronic Album– BRAT

  • Best Music Video– “360”


Doechii released her album, “Alligator Bites Never Heal” this year and it has now earned her three total nominations. The Florida-native is also the first female rapper to be nominated in the “Best Rap Album” category this decade. Here is a look at her current nominations:

Billie Eilish is no stranger to the Grammy Awards and this year, her new album HIT ME HARD AND SOFT earned her a total of seven nominations:

  • Song of the Year– “BIRDS OF A FEATHER”

  • Best Pop Solo Performance– “BIRDS OF A FEATHER”

Chappell Roan very quickly became the “Midwest Princess” in 2024 and has earned six total Grammy nominations:

  • Record of the Year– “Good Luck, Babe!”

  • Song of the Year– “Good Luck, Babe!”

  • Album of the YearThe Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess

  • Best New Artist

  • Best Pop Vocal AlbumThe Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess

  • Best Pop Solo Performance– “Good Luck, Babe”

RAYE is also a first-time Grammy nominee and has made history as the first artist to be nominated for Best New Artist and Songwriter of the Year in the same year.

Taylor Swift earned six nominations and she is now the first women to be nominated seven times for Album of the Year

Brandy and Monica earned their third Grammy nomination together after 25 years for their collaboration with Ariana Grande on “the boy is mine” remix. Brandy and Monica won the Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 1999 for “The Boy is Mine”

The ceremony, set for February 2, 2025, at the Crypto Arena in Los Angeles, promises to be unforgettable. Who are you rooting for?
